Email Help Links SQL comes with a flexible and sophisticated Mass Mailer that you can customize to send mail out to All Users, All Links owners, a list of Selected Users, a list of Selected Links owners, or to the people who have registered as Newsletter members. All mailings can be saved as templates so they can be used continuously without having to re-input the text or re-used with slight variations and saved under a different template name. Any fields within the Users Table can be inserted into the mailings with the use of tags in this example form: <%username%> or <%email%> in order to personalize the mailings. Clicking on All Users will allow you to compose a message to be sent to everyone registered as a user. There are several types of users in Links SQL and the Admin is a User. Most users you’ll have in your database will be tied to the links within your database while others might be Editors or perhaps Newsletter members. Selecting the All Links option will allow you to compose a message to be sent to every user tied to a link within your database. None of the Editors or Newsletter members will be included in this mailing. The option to mail a list of Selected Users will display a Search Form that will help you select a specific list of Users with specific attributes. A short cut has been provided to you here with the pull-down menu for the Status field. You can choose to email all the users registered as Editors here and only those users. Alternatively, you can also email all the non-validated users who may be neglected for a period of time while your site is down for maintenance possibly. You can also use any of the other search fields to help you narrow down your search for selected users to email. The option to mail a list of Selected Links is a similar functionality to the option for emailing a list of Selected Users. Various search criteria can be used to narrow down the list of link owners to be included in the mass mailing. Newsletter gives you the ability to keep interested parties aware of developments within your site by mailing them a list of the NEW additions to your site. The frequency of this mailing will depend upon the frequency that you’ve set for the new period re-set. If you’ve set a time of 7 days for the length of time to leave new status on a new link, send your newsletter out in weekly intervals to ensure no duplication of new links. |
